Robert Edward Palu, son of Edward and Bertha (Kosmicski) Palu, was born September 14, 1932, in Loup City, Nebraska. Robert died Saturday, November 23, 2013, in Bloomfield, Nebraska. Robert attended Catholic School and one year of high school in Loup City, Nebraska. On January 3, 1951, he was married to Magdelene "Maggy" Placek of Loup City, Nebraska. The young Polish couple raised eight children: Joyce, Rosanne, Duaine, Roger, Martin, Cynthia, Patrick and Bradley. Robert was part of the farming community and held jobs in Osmond, Bloomfield, Emerson, Wallace, Lexington, and Cozad, Nebraska. He also worked at the Farmers Co-op, Bloomfield, Nebraska as a Service Technician and Manager. In 1995, Robert and Maggy retired and moved back to Bloomfield, Nebraska where Robert helped his son, Roger Palu at Roger's Yamaha from time to time when Roger needed a hand. Robert enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, and playing cards with family and friends. Robert is survived by: wife of nearly 63 years, Magdelene "Maggy" Palu of Bloomfield, Nebraska; children, Joyce (Dennis) Barnes, Rosanne (Rick) Schnoor, Duaine (Carol) Palu, Roger Palu, Cynthia Nohr, Patrick Palu and Bradley Palu; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by: son, Martin S. Palu; parents; three brothers; one sister and one nephew. Inurnment was in Loup City Cemetery, Loup City, Nebraska.
