Bio

Arlean Irene "Cindy" Garman, 85, of Wymore, passed away at her daughter's home Friday morning, Nov. 22, 2013. She was born on Oct. 28, 1928 at Schaefferstown, Pa. to William and Flowsey (Bickhart) Baim. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Pa. and attended Nursing School in Denver, Colo. Cindy and Fred R. Garman were married on Oct. 17, 1966 in Denver, Colo. and she had lived in Wymore since their marriage. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Wymore, and the Pairs and Spares and Kum Join Us groups at the church. She is a former member of the Wymore American Legion Auxiliary. Cindy enjoyed playing bingo, word puzzles, her grandkids, softball, following the Huskers and collected clowns and dolls. Survivors include two daughters, Samantha Leach and husband Adam of Wymore, and Tabatha Fox of Beatrice; two sons, Scott Garman and wife Christi of Crab Orchard, and William Chasel of Wymore; eight grandchildren, Melisa Reed and husband Kevin, Chantal Leach and Rachel Buchholz, Tiffany Leach, Brandon Leach, Cheyenne Leach, Zane Fox, Taitum Garman and Austin Knauss; three great-grandchildren, Aaron, Jazlyn and Haylee Reed; numerous "adopted" grandchildren including Ellie Edmond; three stepchildren, Marvin Garman, Ruth Houston and Elsie Grotheer, all of Nebraska City; and several stepgrand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Flowsey (Bickhart) Baim; husband Fred R. Garman (1988); and 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at the Wymore Church of Christ with pastor Clayton Lundstedt and Kent Mann officiating. Inurnment will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery at a later date (following cremation). The body will lie in state Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting friends from 6-8 p.m., and at the church one hour preceding the service. A memorial has been established to the family's choice with the funeral home in charge. A family prayer services will be held at 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church.
