Marcella "Marcy" Bowman June 1, 1915 - Nov. 18, 2013 Marcella "Marcy" Bowman, 98, of Fremont, Nebraska, died Monday, November 18, 2013, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Marcella was born June 1, 1915, at Morse Bluff, NE, to Leonard and Ella (Shanahan) Ranslem. Marcella grew up and attended school at Morse Bluff. Marcella married Karo Bowman of Cedar Bluffs, NE, on August 12, 1938, in Papillion, NE. After their marriage they lived in Cedar Bluffs and then moved to Santa Monica, California. They moved to Fremont in 1942. Karo died February 21, 1972. Marcella was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved being with family and friends. While Karo was in the service, Marcella worked at the Walker War Plant in Fremont. After Karo passed away she enjoyed serving food samples at the former O.P. Skaggs / Grubbs Grocery Store in Fremont for a short time. She was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Fremont and Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #200. Marcella is survived by her daughters, Michele (Randy) Giebler of Fremont, NE, and Marcia (Don) VanMoorleghem of Omaha, NE; 3 grandchildren, Molly (Josh) Carpenter of Omaha, NE, Mikaela VanMoorleghem of Omaha, NE, and Danny (Cassie) Giebler of Springfield, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Karo; brothers, John, Dick, Earl, and Raymond Ranslem; sister, Mary Ellen "Sis" Jessen. The funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Friday, November 22, 2013, at The Presbyterian Church in Fremont. The Rev Jon Ashley and The Rev Earl Underwood will be officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 21, 2013, with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cedar Bluffs, NE. Memorials may be directed to the Presbyterian Church in Fremont and Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice.
