According to the Arkansas Death Record for Emily, her mother's maiden name was "Misouri Holt". Emily's father was "Calvin Burns". Calvin Burns married Missouri Holt on Nov. 5, 1853 in Jefferson Co., Alabama. Calvin Burns & wife Missouri Malinda appear on the 1860 Alabama Census, Jefferson Co. In 1870, they are on the Alabama Census, Winston Co. Emily A. Burns was born in Jefferson Co. or Winston Co., Alabama. Emily's mother died about 1877 in Winston Co., Alabama & Emily's father Calvin Burns remarried to a widow Mrs. Mary Vermilla Alexander about 1878.
