Morning World-Herald (Omaha, Nebr.), April 8, 1940, p. 16, col. 1 Deaths Mrs. Mae McCarthy, 37, 5316 North Twenty-seventh street, who had been ill since birth of a baby six weeks ago, died Sunday. She spent her early life at Dodge, Neb., and came to Omaha 13 years ago. Survivors: Husband, Charles L.; son, Charles L., jr.; daughters, Mary Frances, Margaret Mae and Barbara Jean; mother, Mrs. Stanley C. Hruby; brother, Leonard Stecher; sisters, Lillian and Lucille Hruby, all of Omaha. Funeral: Wednesday, 8:30 a.m. at 5501 North Twenty-fourth street, and at Holy Angels church at 9. '''''''''''''''''''''' The Dodge Criterion (Dodge, Nebr.), April 11, 1940, p. 1, col. 3 FORMER DODGE WOMAN DIES AT OMAHA Relatives received word of the sudden death of Mrs. Lawrence McCarthy at Omaha on Saturday evening of a heart attack. Mrs. McCarthy, as Mae Stecher was born on a farm south of Dodge and had reached the age of thirty seven years. She attended O'Neill academy for two years and graduated from the Dodge High School. Thirteen years ago she was married at Omaha to Mr. Lawrence McCarthy who with four children survive, Mary Frances, 12; Charles Lawrence, 10; Margaret Mae, 6 and Barbara Joan six weeks. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning from the Parish Church. Besides her husband and children, she leaves to mourn her mother Mrs. Stanley Hruby and step-father Stanley Hruby, one brother, Leonard Stecher and two half sisters Lillian and Lucille Hruby. Those attending the funeral from here were: Mrs. Joe F. Stecher, Mrs. Charles Faltin, Mr. V. J. Tichota, Mr. Charles Karnik, Mr. Anton Hodek, Miss Wilma Karnik, Dr. and Mrs. J. S. Karnik and Raymond Tichota.
