Bio
Funeral services for Mrs. Faye Flandry will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at 2:00p.m. at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Pastor Robert Smith will officiate. Interment will follow the services at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday with the family present from 6:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Flandry passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Fairview Nursing Home in Fairfield. She was born on April 26, 1928, in Dodson, Louisiana. She married Sabin Joseph (S.J.) Flandry on September 6, 1947, and shared over fifty years of marriage together until being separated by his death in October of 1997. Mrs. Flandry worked as a secretary for Mr. Ruel Wilson at the County School's Superintendent's office, as a bookkeeper at Teague High School, and as Teague I.S.D. secretary to Mr. Bill Hancock, for many years. She later worked at Walmart in Mexia in the jewelry department and as a cashier. She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Key & husband Aubrey Wayne of Teague; two sons, Dannie Joe (Buster) Flandry & wife Sue of Fairfield, and Russell Lee Flandry of Austin; five grandchildren, Teresa Wilson & husband Roger of Fairfield, Mark Wayne Key & Ashley Clark of Teague, Dannie Heath Flandry & wife Kirby of Fairfield, Dedra Lynn Bankhead & husband Trey of Athens, and Evan Joseph Niswanger of Teague; great-grandchildren, Roger Wilson Jr. & wife Candie of Fairfield, Johnna Smith of Lake Jackson, Johnathan Wilson of Fairfield, Caden Key & Casen Key both of Teague, Bailey George of Normangee, Piper Price of Kirvin, Taylor Flandry & Travis Flandry of Fairfield, and Ellie Bankhead of Athens; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Laverne Cockerham of Palestine and Mollie Cockerham of Teague; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Flandry was preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Lynn Flandry ; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Flandry, parents, Henry & Eva Cockerham; three brothers, Elzy & wife Pearl Cockerham, Kenneth Cockerham, and Charles Cockerham.
