Gaulbert Anton Demel LITTLEFIELD- Gaulbert Anton Demel, 86, of Pep died on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013 at his home near Pep. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013 in Hammons Memorial Chapel at Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield. Christian Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013 at St. Philip Neri Church in Pep, Texas with Rev. Dr. Joseph Thanavelil officiating. Burial will be in St. Philip Neri Cemetery in Pep. Arrangements are by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield, Texas. Gaulbert was born June 23, 1927 in Middle Creek, Texas to Anton and Margaret Demel. He and his family moved to the Pep community in 1933. He married Marcy Sokora on Aug. 24, 1948 in Pep and they shared their lives for 65 years. Gaulbert loved farming and the land. He spent over 60 years farming in the Pep community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Margaret Demel; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth; and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Marcy Demel of Pep; five children, Justin Demel and wife Doreen of Wichita, Kan., Pam McFadden and husband Mark of Olton, Vanessa Cave and husband Bryan of Snyder, Dale Demel and wife Cindy of Bula, and Pat Demel and wife Tammy of Littlefield; 13 grandchildren, Erin Demel and Meredith Demel, Michelle McFadden and Dustin McFadden, Jason Cave and wife Alisha, Rachel Cave and Jared Cave, Whitney McWilliams and husband Mason, Blake Demel and wife Randi, Tara Humphreys and husband Kris, Kristen McCain and husband Steven, Losson Demel and Megan Demel; and six great-grandchildren.
