Topeka Capital-Journal, Sunday, March 22, 1981, page 54: Mrs. Ida O. Hudspeth Mrs. Ida Opal Hudspeth, 89, 619 Wayne, died Friday at a Topeka hospital after an extended illness. She was born April 24, 1891, in Charles County, Ill., the daughter of Andrew Anderson and Hester Ann Roberts Melton. Mrs. Hudspeth was a member of Topeka Bible Church. She was married to Ralph Elmer Hudspeth on March 12, 1938, at Cottonwood Falls. He survives. Other survivors include a son, E. LeRoy Gale, 403 Roosevelt; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Giles, Terrell, Texas; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Newcomer-Diffenderfer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Topeka. Mrs. Hudspeth will lie in state from noon Sunday until service time at the funeral home.
