OWENS, Jimmie Kelley, 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2013. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 64 years, Emmett O. Owens an Army WWII Veteran. After serving for 5 years in the Mediterranean area, he returned home to marry his childhood sweetheart in December 1948. Mrs. Owens is survived by their three children, Shirley O. Bennett of Ada, Michigan, Donald O. (Loretta) Owens of Prattville, Alabama and Charlotte O. Tatum of Montgomery, Alabama. She was the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Randolph officiating. Visitation will be held t Leak Memory Chapel one hour prior to the service. Serving as pall bearers will be the Montgomery Fire Rescue. (Published in the Montgomery Advertiser on November 9, 2013)
