Ross E. (Pete) Gilchrest, 75, died Nov 13, 2004 in Waco. Services by Connally Compton Funeral Home with burial in Rosemound Cemetery. Pete was born in Gatesville TX on April 12, 1929 to Harvey and Lillie Gilchrest. He was a Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post 2034. He owned Gilchrest and Sons Electric. He was a member of Park Lake Baptist church where he was Chairman of the Deacons. He served as Scout Master for the Boy Scouts, coached little league baseball, and accompanied his sons to many rodeos. He loved to sing and listen to Gospel music, and was an avid deer hunter. Pete never met a stranger and loved to talk to everyone. Pete was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Curtis Mullins. Survivors include: Joyce Gilchrest of Waco; sons, Brian Gilchrest (Arlene) of China Spring TX, Ross Gilchrest (Shannon) of Winfred S.D.; daughter, Denise Bain and fiancée Mark Fricker of Clifton; brother, Don Gilchrest (Jean) of Salado TX; sister, Ruth Mulllins of Waco; grandchildren, Ashlee Gilchrest, Breann Gilchrest, Robie Bain and Casey Bain; and numerous nieces and nephews.
