Bio
Raymond Louis Valenta, 86, passed away October 7, 2013 at home. He had lived in Irving since 1962. He was born in Taylor, Texas on November 5, 1926. He graduated from Taylor High School where he met Marjorie Sams. He married her in 1945 and they were married for 53 wonderful years. He joined U. S. Air Force, served during World War II, later joined U.S. Army, and retired in 1964. Mr. Valenta was employed by Chief Freight Lines in Dallas, Texas where he worked for over 15 years and retired in 1981. After retirement, he was self-employed for 20 years. He attended All American College in Killeen and Officer Candidate School. He was a Mason for over 60 years, Irving Lodge number 1218. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason and a one time member of the Hella Temple. Survived by his wife of thirteen years, Sue Valenta and many other family members. Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry and his son Donnie. Interment to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens in Irving.
