Mrs. Foster, 88, of Dry Prong, passed from this life on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Betty was lovingly called Mam-maw by not only her grandbabies, but also the hundreds of children she fed while working at Dry Prong Junior High and Grant High School. Betty's love language was Acts of Service. She would go out of her way to take care of anyone in need. She thrived off of supporting her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. If there was a ball game or dance performance, Mam-maw was there and cheering louder than anyone else. Betty loved making and selling bows. To be honest, she probably gave away more than she sold. Putting a smile on people's faces was one of her greatest joys. Betty loved to jitterbug, roller skate, and play Cadillac. She played drums in a band and sang on the radio. She was a cheerleader and dancer. Betty was the queen of Halloween and wore the best costumes. She lived life to the fullest and was the life of the party. Betty was the backbone of her family. She gave the best hugs and advice. She supported you even when you didn't listen to the advice that you should have. She was a three-time cancer survivor and was the toughest woman we've known. Betty was a member of Dry Prong First Baptist Church. She adored her Lord and Savior. Her love for him was evident for all to see. We know that she would not want us to be sad, because she is currently rejoicing and dancing in Heaven. Please join us in paying our respects to Betty and supporting her family during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing to all whose lives she touched. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Harold E. Foster; mother, Leloa White Hunt; sons, Steven Foster, and John Thomas Foster; sisters, Sandra Gadway, Nellie Hunt, Shirley Salazar, Carol Rosier, and Mary Winters; granddaughter, Betty Lucia Foster, and grandson, Danny Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Arthur Johnson; daughters, Belinda Borland (Joe), and Peggy Rachal (Buddy); brothers, James Hunt (Diane), and Jack Hunt; daughter-in-law, Marcelina Foster; grandchildren, Steven Foster, Wendy Roe (Al), Natasha Johnson (Jason), Eddie Joe Borland (Jessica), Justin Borland (Holly), Erica Evans (Daniel), Candace Zell (Adam), Tracy Smith, Christian Foster, John Marc Foster, Thomas Trenton Foster, Angelina Foster, and Nathan Johnson; 16 great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren, and numerous other family and friends.
