Per Tony and Cindy Lloyd McCook Republican, McCook, Nebraska Obituary-Henry Crabtree was born February 5, 1833 in Licken County, Ohio. When but a boy his parents moved to Polk City, Iowa, and here when 15 years of age he united with the M.E. church. On July 7, 1859, he was married to Daphne A. Baker. To this union eleven children were born, eight of whom are still living. In the year 1861 he enlisted in the Union Army serving as First Sargent of the Twenty-third Iowa Infantry and receiving an honorable discharge at the close of the war. He came to Red Willow county, Nebraska, in the spring of 1879 and has been prominent as a citizen and official. He was respected by all classes. For a number of years he has been failing in health and died on March 2, 1912. Funeral services were held at the home on March 4, conducted by the pastor C.A. Norlin. The burial service was in charge of the Masonic order of which he was a member. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the stricken family.
