born to Jaroslav and Hedvika (Coufal) Bartek. He was preceded in death by brothers and spouses, Jarold V. and Adeline Bartek, Ernest Bartek, Adolph and Helen Bartek; sisters and spouses, Hedvika and Joe Snitily and Marie and Phil Benes; and brother-in-law, Carl Jelinek. He is survived by sisters, Marcella Bartek of Weston and Cecelia Jelinek of Wahoo; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. Joseph S. Bartek, 97 of Weston, NE, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo, NE. Joe was born January 9, 1916 in rural Weston, NE to Jaroslav and Hedvika (Coufal) Bartek. He attended District 98 country school and Weston High School. Joe was a lifelong farmer that loved his family. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Weston and for over 65 years he was a member of the choir. Joe was also in the St. John Men's Club. He enjoyed all kinds of puzzles. He was also very handy with tools repairing and welding farm machinery for anyone who needed help fixing broken equipment. Working in the garden was Joe's favorite hobby. Joe had a vegetable garden, but most of all he loved his rose garden. Joe is survived by sisters, Marcella Bartek of Weston and Cecelia Jelinek of Wahoo; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jarold V. (Adeline) Bartek, Ernest Bartek, Adolph (Helen) Bartek; sisters, Hedvika (Joe) Snitily and Marie (Phil) Benes; brother-in-law, Carl Jelinek. Contributor: Deano (50599775)
