Bio

William Dewey Houck died March 8, 1985 in Fort Worth, TX. Services were held Sunday, March 10, 1985 in the Greer Funeral Chapel with Norman Easter, Church of Christ minister, officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home. Houck was born September 21, 1898 at Jester, the son of William P. and Lorena Houck. He married Effie Martin on January 14, 1923 at Jester, where he farmed until he retired in 1966 and moved to Mangum. In 1981 they moved to Fort Worth, TX. Survivors are two sons; William W. of Fort Worth, TX., and James Gail of Irving, TX.; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Austin Houck of Mangum; and three sisters, Monette Holland of Mangum, Novell McKissack of Houston, TX, and Bonnie Hogan of Pampa, TX.
