Bio

The grim reaper of death has been in our midst and taken from us a beloved Christian man. Julius Brack PEARSON, son of Thomas W. and Roxie B. PEARSON, was born June 16, 1865, and departed this life, June 3, 1915, aged forty-nine years, eleven months and seventeen days. On July 2, 1893, he was united in marriage to Vira BOLTZ, of Bloomfield. To this happy union were born four children, a son who died in infancy and three daughters. Preceding him in death were his father and mother and brother, John M. Surviving him are his faithful wife and daughters, Mrs. Bessie SPARKS, Bonnie, aged 15 and Adren, aged 13. One grandchild, five brothers, William, of Boonville, Missouri, Thomas and Pink, of this place, James of Indianapolis, and F. R. PEARSON, of Columbus. One sister, Mrs. Eli PHILLIPS, living near Bloomfield, and a host of friends and relatives who are bowed in grief, such as death alone can bring. He was a kind and dutiful son, and affectionate husband and father, such as is seldom seen. He was a friend to the friendless and a peacemaker wherever he went. In early life he was converted and joined the M. E. church at Allen Chapel from which he withdrew a few years later as he felt that God had a work for him which was different. He devoted most of his latter life to the ministry wherever he felt that God called him. The sweet patience in which he bore his sickness and the perfect faith in Christ was touching to witness. On Saturday, although so weak he could not stand, by his earnest request he was taken to town where he pitifully plead with the people to seek the kingdom of God. The night before he died, while sleeping, he sang a verse of the song he loved so well “God Will Take Care of You.” He aroused a little, slept again and sang a few lines of “Shall We Meet Beyond the River.” The next day, while talking to his brother, he calmly and sweetly passed away as one goes to sleep.
