Charles E. Shropshire, age 86, of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 12 at his home. He was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. B. and Katie Lee Mayes Shropshire; and siblings, Mary Frank Brantley, Buford Shropshire, Donald Shropshire, Douglas Calfee, Delmer Shropshire, Dennis Shropshire, Darrell Shropshire, Haskel Shropshire, Ellis Shropshire and Carolyn Shropshire. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Van Shropshire; children, Stanley (Judy) Shropshire, Glenda Shropshire, Danny (Kristi) Shropshire and Dale Shropshire; sisters, Bonnie and Phyllis Shropshire; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Jarnigan officiating. Family and friends will meet in Hamblen Memory Gardens on Tuesday morning at 10:45 a.m. for an 11 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday evening prior to the services. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown.
