Rosie Marie Zhanel, 85, passed away at her home in Ennis, Texas on Monday, October 7, 2013. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with Rosary at 7 p.m. A Celebration of her life will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, October 11, 2013, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel with interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Rosie was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Frank A. and Rose B. (Novy) Patak. She grew up in Ennis and attended St. John Catholic School. On May 27, 1952, she married Stanley Frank Zhanel and they made their home in Ennis. Rosie worked for Ennis Business Forms as a binder for 38 years until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT #16, SPJST, Catholic Daughters and WFLA. She enjoyed working in her garden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Zhanel; sons, David Joseph Zhanel Sr. and Ronnie Stanley Zhanel; sisters, Angeline Heiztman and Mildred Podrouzek; and brother, Frankie Joe Patak. She is survived by son, James Zhanel; daughters, Diane Zhanel and Della Vinson and her husband, Kenton; daughter-in-law, Terry Zhanel; grandchildren, Tina and Terry Polson, Joe and Samantha Zhanel, David and Chanel Zhanel, Chris Christian and Zachary and Mandy King; five great-grandchildren, sister, Adell Miklis; sister-in-law, Virginia Patak; many other relatives and numerous friends.
