Bio

Rose M. Hancock, 90, of Mauriceville, Texas, passed away October 4, 2013 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Texas. Born in Terry, Texas, on August 2, 1923, Rose was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary Adelene (Simmons) Walles. For a brief time in the 50's she worked at the Dell Dixie Pickle Factory in Orange. She was a member of The Temple in Mauriceville and she enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and drawing portraits. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hartwell Clifton Hancock and siblings, Ruby Lee Waldrep, Lula Rae Peveto, Claude Walles, Trave Walles, Gladys Davis, Hazel Honeycutt, Wilrey Granger and Woodrow Walles. Mrs. Hancock is survived by her niece who was her caregiver, Patsy McDonald and husband, Mack; niece, Barbara Miles and husband, Jim; sisters, Adelene Hanks and Rena Waldrep and numerous other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews. Burial: Ebenezer Cemetery near Colmesneil, Texas. Claybar Funeral Home, Orange, Texas
