Informant Edna Ermels The Inyo Register Newspaper - Sept. 23, 1997 - Bishop, Inyo County, California Funeral services for 20 year resident Joseph Edwin Ermels, 83, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Grace Lutheran Church in Bishop, Pastor Kenton Puls will officiate. Mr. Ermels died Sept. 18 at his home in Bishop. Born in Bloomfield, Nebraska on Nov. 1, 1913, he was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and found joy in entertaining for the retirement home for many years. After retiring, he traveled for six years and then located in Bishop some 20 years ago. Survivors include his wife Edna Ermels of Bishop; children: Elmira ad Ted Tasted of Everett, Wash.; Gale and Cyrus Wooden of Placerville, Calif; John and Nancy Ermels of Kirkland, Wash,; James and Susie Ermels of Ramona, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph Ermels, Jr. Pallbearers will be Jerry Knapp, Samuel Miller, Bert Leithold, Joe Kendrick, William Wooden and Edward Wooden. Interment will be at the East Line Street Cemetery.
