Valine Ballard, 95 of Dumas, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Services are scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Korsmo officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Valine was born February 7, 1918 to Sol and Ora (Ashcraft) Leonard in Goodlett, TX. On August 15, 1935 she married A.B. Ballard in Quanah, TX, he preceded her in death in 1988. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1942. Valine loved sports and spent most of her time with A.B. fishing and various other activities. She always attended all of her boys sporting events and was a member of Bible Baptist Church. Valine loved her family and will be missed by all. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and one sister. Valine is survived by two sons: James Ballard and wife Ann and Joe Ballard and wife Jelene all of Dumas; three grandchildren: Jerry Ballard and wife Agnes of Amarillo, Donnie Ballard and wife Valerie and Gary Ballard and wife Lori all of Dumas; 11 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be made to Bible Baptist Church, 212 W. 1st Street, Dumas, TX 79029 The family will be at 116 Armstrong, Dumas, TX. Survivors include two sons, James Ballard and Joe Ballard, both of Dumas; three grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
