Bio

Son of Frank & Anna (Voracek) Tvrdik. Married to Marguerite Duryea on 6-3-1940 at Ord, NE. Graveside service for Walter Tvrdik, 80, of Lincoln, Neb., a former Council Bluffs resident, was to be held this morning (9 Sep 1998) in the Douglas Grove Cemetery west of Comstock, Neb. Mr. Tvrdik died Sept. 6 at his home. He was born west of Comstock and graduated from Comstock High School in 1938. He farmed in the Comstock area and near Underwood for nearly 60 years, retiring in 1994. He had attended the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Methodist church. Mr. Tvrdik and his wife, Marguerite (Duryea), were married 58 years. Survivors in addition to his wife include two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Jackie) Anderson and Jiri Tvrdik, both of Lincoln, two grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Rhoad Funeral Home in Sargent, Neb., was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be offered to the Comstock United Methodist Church.
