REGULAR RANGER PVT. CO A Joseph Cecil Bean was born April 19, 1874, in Magnolia Springs, Jasper County, Texas to James Bean and Maratha or Martha Sarah Jane Garrett. He was married to Mary or Mollie Bean, September 1918. They were divorced by 1930. I could find no children. Joe stood 5ft. 11in. tall, had brown eyes, brown hair and a dark complexion. He was a stockman. He was the sheriff of Terrell County, Texas from November 6, 1906 until November 8, 1910. He was defeated for re-election. He owned a lumber yard in Sanderson, Terrell County in 1911. Joe enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a REGULAR RANGER from June 1, 1912 until January 31 1913, He was discharged due to reduction in force. He lived in El Paso, El Paso County, Texas from December 1917 to September 1918 through February 1920. In 1920, he was an oil well driller in El Paso County, Texas. In 1930 he was a farmer in Bay City, Matagorda County, Texas. Joseph Cecil Bean died April 25, 1947 in Brewster County Texas. Funeral services were held in Alpine, Brewster County, Texas at the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Frank C. Dutton, Baptist pastor, officiating. The Masonic fraternity was in charge of the service at the grave. He had been a Member of the Alpine lodge for many years. He was laid to rest in the Elm Grove cemetery in Alpine.
