Bio
Doyle E. Myres, 82, of Rockford, Illinois lost his long battle with Parkinson's disease September 2, 2013. He is now free in heaven with his Lord Jesus and family and friends who have gone on before. Born March 27, 1931, in Tallapoosa, MO, son of Cecil and Hazel (Peterson) Myres. Married Sarah Evelyn Ray on April 24, 1948. Doyle worked at Quaker Oats for over 35 years. He has a been a faithful part of Riverside Assembly Church for over 40 years. Doyle enjoyed fishing the local lakes and rivers, his vegetable garden, playing dominos, rides in the country and walking the trails. Vacation was a trip to his Southern roots to visit his parents and siblings. Survivors include wife of 65 years, Evelyn; children, Larry (Linda) Myres, Charlotte Edward, Pam (Eugene) Clayton, and Scott (Wendy) Myres; grandchildren, Al (Heather) Edwards, Allan (Jennifer) Edwards, Mat (Nicole) Clayton, David (Jennifer) Clayton, Laura Correnti, Tina Myres, Jonathan Myres. Predeceased by his parents and two sisters. The family thanks the staff at Fireside Health Center and OSF, 3rd floor ICU for their care. Service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Honquest Family Funeral Home with Crematory, Rockford Chapel, 4311 North Mulford.
