Bio

Merril F. Beck, 60, of Sunset Beach, retired counselor and professor emeritus at Leeward Community College, will be remembered in services Friday. He was killed while traveling in South Africa. He was also an Army Reserve officer, served LDS mission in North Central States and founded Ahilaulima o Kahuku. Born in Lehi, Utah, he is survived by brothers Jerry and Michael; and sister Barbara. Memorial services: 11:30 a.m. Friday at Leeward Community College Banyan Circle, behind the cafeteria. Casual attire. No flowers.
