Mary Loudell Casey September 26, 1922 - August 25, 2013 Mary Loudell Casey, lifelong resident of Rule, Texas, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Mrs. Casey was 90. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Church of Christ in Rule with Mr. John Greeson officiating. Burial will take place immediately following at Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home. One of three children, Mary Loudell Emerson was born September 26, 1922 in Rule, Texas to Ann and Charlie Emerson. She married Leroy Casey in Oklahoma on August 24, 1946. The two made Rule their home where they raised their 2 children and both worked on the family farm. Former Woman of the Year in Rule, Loudell loved caring and cooking for her family and others. She ran the local café in Rule where her cooking proved to be the best and the atmosphere was equally as pleasant. Loudell enjoyed doing for others. She never asked for anything personally, but was always concerned for others and available to help in anyway she could. She was a beautiful, kind hearted, soft spoken woman that will truly be missed by so many. Mrs. Casey was a member of the Church of Christ in Rule. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ann Emerson; her husband, Leroy Casey; 3 great-granddaughters, Ashley, Mikaylee, Melissa; brother, Henry Emerson; and sister, Opal Eakins . Loudell will be missed by her son, Troy Bennett Scoggins and wife Patsy of Abilene, daughter, Cathy Ann Casey of Rule; 4 grandchildren, Suzanne Bailey and husband Larry, Anthony Ray Scoggins and wife Karla, Troy Bennett Scoggins, Jr. and wife Dene; Misty Lea Szatkowski and husband Mark; 12 great-grandchildren, Kacie, Anthony Jr., Amanda, Taylor, Joshua, Aaron, Riley, Jordan, Stephen, Madeline, Johnathan, McKinlea; special friends, Francelle Hamlett, Jean Bramlett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
