Bio

Lillian Bernice Mikulec, 93, of Marak, Texas, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at her home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Marak with Rev. Walter Matus officiating. Burial will follow in the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m., at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home. Lillian, a homemaker and farmer, was born in Cyclone, Texas, to the late Joseph and Lydia (Bartos) Zavodny. She married Frank Paul Mikulec, Jr. Lillian was a member of Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, SPJST, CSA, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the DAV Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 1987. Survivors include her sons, Frankie J. Mikulec, of Ft. Worth, Maurice T. Mikulec, of China Spring, and Michael J. Mikulec, of Buckholts; daughter, Joetta Ehler, of Cameron; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Leon Zavodny, and Milton Zavodny, both of Rogers; sister, Henrietta Slavik, of Waco; many other relatives and numerous friends.
