Duncan, 92, of 3500 Park, a former employee of Hunt County and the Greenville Independent School District, died at a local hospital at 7 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be at the Coker-Mathews Chapel at 3:30 p.m. today with the Revs. Milton Guttierrez and Randy Newkirk officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Duncan was born in Hunt County on April 18, 1891, the daughter of T.S. and Mattie Riley Puryear. She married Ben Lytle, in 1908. He preceded her in death in 1918 and she married Luke J. Duncan on Jan. 9, 1921, who preceded her in death on April 6, 1944. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Salem-Kinser United Methodist Church. Surviving are sons, H.H. Lytle and L.J. Duncan Jr., both of Greenville, and George Duncan, Lamesa; daughters, Helen Chamblis, Texarkana, Lena Slatter, Lubbock, Mozell McWhorter, LaMarque, and Elizabeth Brown, Greenville; two sisters, Lena Shankles and Ethel Felty, both of Greenville; 32 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were six sons, two daughters, five brothers and three sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
