FRIONA, Texas -- Funeral services for G. E. (Bud) Reed, 73, who died Monday at Parmer County Community Hospital, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday from the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Archie Echols, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Friona cemetery under the direction of Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Reed was born Oct. 30, 1910 in Parmer County, Texas, and owned and operated Reed's Cleaners in Friona for many years. He retired in 1980. He was married to Juanita Boggess on Aug. 16, 1931, In Portales. He was Past District Deputy Grand Lodge of the International Order of Oddfellows, a charter member of Friona IOOF number 203, and charter member of Rebekkah lodge number 306, he had been a member of First United Methodist Church since 1931. Survivors include his wife, Juanita of the home; a son Ralph of Friona, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Patsy Bandy of Friona, Texas, and Roberta Klapper of Pampa, Texas; five sisters, Mrs. Mable Psingten, Mrs. Minnie Knight, Mrs. Lena Stokes and Mrs. Neelie Pierce, all of Friona, Texas, and Mrs. Grace Vassios of Palm Desert, Calif.; two brothers, George Reed of Friona, and Fred Reed of Borger, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tommy and Douglas Watsonm Hihnny, Clay and Todd Bandy, and Max and David Reed. Honorary bearers will be all friends. Memorials may be made to the church of your choice or to Prairie Acres Nursing Home in Mr. Reed's memory. Published in the Clovis News Journal, Dec. 21, 1983.
