Suggested edit: Published in the Athens Review January 10, 1946 Funeral services for W.E. (Teague) Wylie, about 57, formerly of Eustace, who was killed Friday night when a tornado struck his home near Palestine, were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Rock Church, near Blackfoot. The services were conducted by the Rev. Joe H. Berry. Mr. Wylie was a veteran of World War I and served overseas for eighteen months. He was a former County Superintendent of Anderson county and former Superintendent of the Eustace schools. Funeral services had originally been scheduled for Sunday, but were postponed until Monday pending the outcome of the condition of his wife, who is in a critical condition in a Palestine hospital, the result of injuries received in the storm. Mrs. Wylie is a niece of Virgil Burk of Athens. Surviving Mr. Wylie are his wife; two sons, Billy A. Wylie of Fort Worth and J. Robert Wylie of Palestine; mother, Mrs. Lou Wylie of Palestine; brother, Jeff Wylie of Montalba; two sisters, Mrs. Dollie Williams and Mrs. Lula Ferguson, both of Palestine. He was a first cousin of Mrs. Mary Stanford and Mrs. C.O. Kemp and a nephew of Mrs. George R. Davis and Mrs. Laura Walker, all of Athens.
