Leonard E. Dobrusky, 80 years, of North Bend, NE died Monday, August 12, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. Leonard was born June 2, 1933 in Prague, NE to Emanuel & Mary (Vyhlidal) Dobrusky. He grew up at North Bend and was a 1951 graduate of North Bend High School. He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1951 to 1953 and then entered active duty from 1953 to 1955. Leonard married Patricia A. Black on August 22, 1959 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. Patricia died July 27, 2010. Leonard was employed by Hormel & Company in Fremont from 1955 to 1986, he then worked as a carpenter for 10 years. Leonard was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend; American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff and the Jeffrey K. Mines AMVETS Post #20 of North Bend. He was a former member of the North Bend Fire Department for 19 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and telling jokes. He is survived by son, Michael Dobrusky of North Bend; daughters, Susan & husband, Scott Haynes of Lincoln, NE and Janice & husband, Stephen Bellinghiere of Omaha; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral Mass, 10:30 AM, Friday, at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend, NE. Father Donald Cleary will officiate. Vigil Service, 6 PM, Thursday, and visitation on Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home. The Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard will be escorting the funeral procession. Military graveside service conducted by members of V.F.W. Post #8223 and Jeffrey K. Mines AMVETS Post #20 of North Bend and American Legion Post #340 of Morse Bluff. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery near Morse Bluff. Memorials may be given to the AMVETS Post #20 of North Bend.
