New Prague Times, New Prague, Minnesota November 15, 1889 Grim death steps in and robs a kind husband and three little children of a loving wife and an affectionate mother. This time it is J. H. Stepan who is called upon to mourn the death of his wife, Catherine, who died at their residence on Main street, Wednesday Nov. 18th, 1889 at 8:48 a.m., of Bright's disease of the kidneys. Mrs. Stepan was twenty-four years and eleven months of age, and had been married ten years. Unto them were born four children the eldest eight, and the youngest one year and six months old. One, a boy, died about two years ago. Mrs. Stepan, had been in poor health for about a year, and confined to her bed most of the time for the past five months. Mrs. Stepan was born and grew to womanhood in this place, was a woman of pure and noble aspirations, loved and respected by all who knew her; and her death is mourned by all. The husband and children have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community in this, their sad hour of bereavement. Funeral today at 2:30 p.m., from C.S. P.S., Hall; interment in the New Prague Cemetery. The C. S. P. S. , and Ladies' societies attended the body.
