Funeral services for Jody Louis Poncik, 50, of Rosenberg, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment will follow at West Gethsemane Gardens in Rosenberg. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg. Jody was born August 10, 1962 in Richmond to Victor John and Annie Lee (Drabek) Poncik. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg and the K.J.T. Jody was a long-time farmer, and a member of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed "making things grow" and riding around looking at the crops in the area. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors. Jody has a fondness for Dalmatians, especially Elvis, Penny and Tyra. He passed away on August 6, 2013 in Sugar Land, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father, Victor Poncik. Jody is survived by his mother, Annie (Drabek) Poncik; sisters, Judy Hardin and husband, David, Brenda Zwahr and husband, Calvin, Jr., Wanda Poncik and Joe Welsh, Donna Brewer and husband, Tim; brother, Daryl Poncik and wife, Karen; special aunt, Josephine Kovar; special uncle, Alfonce Drabek; nieces and nephews, Joey Hardin, Jill Hardin, Victoria Zwahr, Lee Ann Zwahr, Katelyn Zwahr, Richard Brewer, Jenifer Brewer, and Keith Brewer; along with numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Albert "Sonny" Urbanek, Jr., Mark Muegge, Allen Kucera, Richard Brewer, Keith Brewer, Neil Drabek, Joey Hardin and Tom Kelly. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ray Hartfiel, Jimmy Eastwood, Charlie Hand and Joe Hand.
