Funeral services for Irene V. Ryland "Granny", 89, of DeRidder, LA, were held on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home, DeRidder, LA. Minister by Dr. Arthur Rockett. Burial followed in Beauregard Cemetery. Mrs. Ryland passed from this life on Saturday, August 3, 2013, in DeRidder, LA. Irene was born on November 5, 1923, to Bertha Austin Cooley and Talmadge Cooley in DeRidder, LA. She was a lifelong resident of Beauregard Parish. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law; ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hermon Slaydon; one brother, Volney Cooley; one sister, Joyce Adams, one granddaughter, Jennifer Benoit and her second husband, Ezra Ryland. Services were under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA.
