Bio
Viva Lee Magnuson claimed the promise of her baptism on Sunday, July 23, 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband, George V. Magnuson; and sisters, May McDaniel and Edna Raetzach. Born April 29, 1909, in Leuders and moved to Lund in 1916. Viva Lee was baptized on November 18, 1923 and affirmed her baptism in the right of confirmation on June 8, 1924. She attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Round rock and married George V. Magnuson in 1929. She served as organist for Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lund and for New Sweden Lutheran Church. After farming in New Sweden for many years, she and her husband moved to Austin in 1950, and became members of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. She is survived by her sons, George Magnuson and his wife Glenda, of McKinney; Donald Magnuson and his wife Judy of Pearland and Gaylord Magnuson and his wife Judy of Austin. Grandchildren, George Jr., Gerry, Robert, Vince and Vicki Magnuson; Leigh Ann Medar, Don Magnuson, Ginger Taylor, John Masters, Deborah Boie, Kathy Redmond and David, Robby, Lilly, Jason and Megan Magnuson; Joshua and Amanda Taylor, Jason Hoffman, Ashley Medar, Casey and Brittany Boice, Cameron and Kyle Redmond; sisters, Louise Kutzenberger and Rachel Turner; and by many more loving relatives and friends.
