Parents: Mr. and Mrs. John Svetlik Svetlik, Joseph Funeral Services For Joseph Svetlik, 88, Held Here Monday Funeral rites for Mr. Joseph Svetlik, 88, were held Monday morning from the residence of his son, Steve Svetlik, with services at St. Michael's Church at 9:30 o'clock, the Rev. Vaclav Bily officiating. Interment was made in the St. Michael's Cemetery. Born in Czechoslovakia, March 19 ,1855, Mr. Svetlik came to this country when 14 years old with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Svetlik, and made farming his life's profession. He died August 7, 1843, at the home of his son, attaining the age of 88 year 1 month and 18 days. He had been ill about five weeks. He was married in 1881, and to this union three children were born. After the death of his first wife he again married in 1891, this time to Amelie Luegskie at Ammannsville, and to this union three children were born. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include his aged widow and six children, W. R. Svetlik of Megargel, Mrs. Frank Beyer of Alvin, Mrs. Steve Krahl of Weimar, Mrs. R. P. Hudec of Fort Worth, Mrs. Charles Stock of Weimar and Steve Svetlik of Weimar. The Mercury joins many friends of the family in extending sincere sympathy to the bereaved.
