Angeline Jacobs, 88, Winner, SD, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2011, at the Winner Regional Healthcare Long Term Care Facility. Angeline Jacobs was born November 3, 1923, at home on a farm near Colome, SD, to Newton and Mary (Styskal) Fleming. She had four brothers and two sisters, one who died in infancy. She was a member of the First Christian Church and was baptized on April 21, 1935. Her faith, family and friends were very important to her. She volunteered at her church and went on many retreats with the CWF ladies, and her special friend Lucy Miller. Angie told of many hardships of her life and her family but she never felt deprived, her faith was strong. She always had her cat and dogs and many stray cats that came by. Angie had two sons, Eldon and Gary. She married Marvin "Hap" Jacobs on June 28, 1946. Hap passed away on March 8, 1991. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Gail Corkill, Elgin, AZ; grandsons Robin, Sierra Vista, AZ, Michael, Dallas, GA, Timothy, Elgin, AZ, and Drew, Flagstaff, AZ; granddaughters Stephanie, Oakland, CA, and Heidi, Philadelphia, PA; many nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Irene Nelson; and a good friend Evelyn Mahoney. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hap; and her sons Gary and Eldon; and her sisters and brothers. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2011, at the First Christian Church in Winner. Burial will be in the Winner Cemetery.
