Herbert H. Locke DICKINSON, TEXAS — Herbert H. Locke, 73, of Dickinson, Texas peacefully left our world on Friday, February 1, 2002, at Christus St. John Hospital in Nassau Bay, Texas after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 3, 2002, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at James Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Dickinson with The Reverend Randy Marshall officiating. Burial service will follow at Grace Memorial Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas. Born November 26, 1928, in Arcadia, Texas, he retired from Lipton Tea in Galveston in 1987, after 33 years of service. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Herbert is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Locke of Dickinson; sons, Wayne Locke of Omega Bay; Chuck Jolly of Dickinson, Don Jolly of Liberty Hill; daughters, Cynthia Davis and husband, Donald of Santa Fe and Judy Bennett and husband, Martin of Fort Worth; grandchildren, April Davis and boyfriend, Brandon Beasley, Amber Sterner and husband, John, Blake Bennett, Drew Bennett and Jill Bennett; his brother, Addison Locke of League City; sisters, Erma Patton of Santa Fe and Elizabeth Chiles and husband, Jimmy, of Corpus Christi. Serving as pallbearers will be Phil Walden, Kyle LeFevers, Brandon Beasley, John Sterner, Jessie Covington, Edward Dorough, Bill Glidden and William Locke. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to all of Herberts wonderful friends and family who have been so supportive. Also the nurses and staff at Christus St. John Hospital and hospice, who were a wonderful help in his remaining days. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
