Bio

Fred Sampson Terry was born January 12, 1895 in Celeste, Texas (Hunt County), son of Henry Clinton 'Clint' Terry (1856-1895) and Lora A. Slack (1858-1943). Sam married Mabel McGraw who was born January 21, 1896 in Tennessee. The 1920 Federal Census for Speairs, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Sam F. Terry, a farm operator, age 25, born in Texas; and his wife, Mabel, age 24, born in Tennessee. Living with them was one daughter, Zelda Terry, age 1 year 6 months, born in Oklahoma. Sam died February 26, 1929 in Bryan County, Oklahoma and was buried in Durant in Highland Cemetery. His wife, Mabel, died July 29, 1952 and was buried in Highland beside Sam.
