Published Jul 23, 2013 in the "San Pedro Valley News-Sun" Benson, Arizona. "Sarah Sue West, 72, passed away at her home Tuesday, July 16, 2013. Services were held under the care of Richardson's Benson Mortuary at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2013, with interment in Cochise Gardens of Rest, Benson, Ariz. She was born March 30, 1941 to Drs. Norman and V. Mae Leopold in Odessa, Texas. After graduating from Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, she served a residency in Pediatrics in Grand Rapids, Mich. Initially, she practiced Pediatrics in Tucson and later in Benson. She took early retirement due to health problems. March 29, 1984, she married Fred West in Benson, Ariz. She was mother to Angela Leopold West, stepmother to Michel West and Tawnya West Boe, and grandmother to Elisha, Zoe and Tobias West. She is survived by her husband, her children, grandchildren and a brother, Dr. David Leopold (Judith) of Sierra Vista, Ariz. and sister, Adair Carlyle (David) of Odessa, Mo. Sue was a member of Oasis Foursquare Church, Sierra Vista. She participated in short-term mission service at The House of Samuel in Tucson. Sue truly loved her Lord with all her heart, mind, soul and strength and her neighbor as herself."
