Opal Strawther, 88, of Trout Creek died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery. Born in Vinton, Louisiana to Dollie May (Whitman) and Henry Elmer Landrum she was a lifelong resident of Trout Creek community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Strawther. Survivors include sons, Don & Linda Strawther of Richmond, and Cliff & Sheri Strawther of Sour Lake; a daughter, Karen & Bill Tryke of Call; a brother, Onice & Bernice Landrum of Silsbee; a sister, Bettie & Nathan Bibb of Beaumont; 6 grandchildren, Gretchin married to Joe Marshall, Holly Badon married to Steve, Sean Strawther married to Michelle, Sarah Marino married to Stephen, bret Strawther married to Katy, and Brandi Manning married to Jason; and 8 great grandchildren, Caroline Badon, Burke Badon, Dillon Marshall, Braden Strawther, Olivia Marino, Michael Marino, Drew Manning, and Joey Manning.
