Bio
Wilma J. Sindelar, 92, of Howells, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in Clarkson, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 20 at 10:30 AM at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells with Fr. Leo Rigatuso celebrating the Mass assisted by Deacon Bill Schlautman. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Howells. Visitation will be on Friday from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM at the church. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time also at the church. Wilma J. Sindelar was born, the oldest of nine children, March 17, 1921, in Dodge, Nebraska, to James and Mary (Chudomelka) Vcelik. She attended St. Wenceslaus Grade School and graduated from Dodge High School in 1940. She worked in Omaha after graduation and married Stanley Sindelar Sr., on June 6, 1944. They lived on the same farm north of Howells for 69 years. Wilma enjoyed gardening, cross stiching, and baking. Her specialties were kolaches, horn rolls, and Christmas bread. She also enjoyed playing Tarock cards with family and friends.
