Elwynna Sue Melot, 80, Bethel Acres, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was born July 5, 1933 to Torrence and Lona (Hutchison) Conley in Wanette, Oklahoma. Sue was raised in Wanette and attended Wanette Public Schools. She was 1951 graduate of Wanette High School. Sue has been a resident of the Bethel Acres/Shawnee Lake area for the past 50 years. She married Herbert Melot on December 31, 1953 in Purcell, Oklahoma. Sue worked for Bethel Public Schools for 10 years as a cook in the cafeteria. She was an active member of the Wanette Alumni Association. Sue enjoyed gardening, farming and raising animals, especially cattle and livestock. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed babysitting with her grandchildren. Her family was the focal point of her life. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and 7 siblings. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years, Herbert Melot; 3 sons and 3 daughters-in-law, Jerry and Gwen Melot, Don and Kim Melot, and David and Tina Melot; daughter, Karen Southers; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Delbert and Dorothy Conley; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Bill Walker and Barbara and Otis Vanderpool; and numerous extended family and friends.
