Bio

Earl Simpson was born on August 10, 1938 in Millersview, Texas to Tom Earl Simpson and Amelia Bertha Heiser Simpson. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1975. In May of 1999, Earl retired from teaching and coaching at H.M. King High School in Kingsville, Texas. He most recently owned M&E embroidery in Kingsville, Texas. Earl Simpson passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013, at a Houston hospital, at the age of 74 years. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margie Simpson; children, Carl Simpson and his wife Susan, and Patrick Simpson and his wife Brigida; 5 grandchildren; and siblings, Paul Simpson, Helen Hunter, Fred Simpson, Patricia Mason, and Roy Simpson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church, 120 N. 4th Street, in Kingsville, with Rev. James Curran officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy, where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, with Rev. Robert Jackman officiating. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the Houston National Cemetery, in Houston.
