Bio

Boyd Black Christensen, age 73, died June 13, 1991, at his home. He was born April 21, 1918, in Richfield, Utah, the son of Soren Christensen and Lucretta Black. He married Barbara Christensen November 26, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Solemnized November 30, 1989, in the Manti LDS Temple. She died May 21, 1991. He was a member of the LDS Church. He began working at Richfield Coca Cola in 1937, and became owner and operator in 1957 until 1981. He was a member of the Richfield Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years from 1955 to 1985, serving as Secretary '59-'60., Assistant Chief '67-'68-'72, and Fire Chief '69-'70-'71. He was a member of the Richfield Kiwanis. Survived by: Three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jean Christensen, Sandy, Utah; Richard and Earlene Christensen, Centerfield, Utah; Fred and Marie Christensen, Annabella, Utah; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lou Ledbetter, Richfield, Utah; Mrs. Ray (Zenna) Christensen, Elsinore, Utah. He is preceded in death by his wife, two grandsons, Todd and Jason, four brothers, Cyril Rex, Fred Val, Merrill, Soren, and Earl and one sister, Dot. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 17, 1991, at 2 p.m., in the Richfield 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West, Richfield, Utah. Friends may call the Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary Sunday evening, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Neal S. Magleby & Sons Mortuary.
