The Emporia Daily Republican, 22 Jun 1896, Monday Mrs. Mary A. Payne, mother of Frank Payne, died at her home on Market street yesterday morning [ 21st?]. She was 50 years of age and was well known and highly esteemed in this community. The funeral took place from the home this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. H. J. Coker conducted the services. ******************************************************* The Emporia Weekly Gazette, 25 Jun 1906, Thursday Mrs. Mary A. Payne, an old and highly respected Emporia woman, died at her home, 417 Market street, Sunday at noon. She leaves one son, who is at home.
