Mike Horlivy, son of Frank and Anna Horlivy, was born in Czechoslavakia February 24, 1877. He passed away at a Lincoln Hospital January 22, 1952, at the aged of n74 years, 10 months, and 23 days. He came to the Exeter, Neb., community at the age of one year with his parents and had been a resident of this community since that time. Mr. Horlivy farmed near Exeter until his retirement in 1928. He was united in marriage September 14, 1907 to Mrs. Christina Motis. Six children were born to this union. Mr. Horlivy underwent many hardships, but was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. He will long be remembered for his sunny disposition and kindness. He was preceded in death by two daughters and his wife. Left to mourn his passing are one daughter, Mrs. Rose Brown, three sons, Fred, Charles, and Edward, two step-sons, Edmen Motis, and Frank Motis; one sister Mrs. Antonia Ladman, six grandchildren and two great grand-children.
