Bio
Ruth Isabelle Hemminger, daughter of James and Bertha (Myers) Hemminger, was born March 18, 1898, in Mooredale, PA. She moved with her family to Hamilton County, IA, in 1901. She was educated in the Webster City schools, and graduated from high school in 1918. She taught in rural Webster City schools. She married Russell (Buster) Hupp on December 31, 1919. The couple farmed in Cass Township, retiring in 1955. Mr. Hupp preceded her in death in September 1970. She had been a resident at Crestview Manor for three years. She is survived by four daughters, Nadine Wadsworth, Des Moines; Ardys Boston, Nevada; Martha Worley, San Antonio, TX; and Patricia Peters, Mountain Center, CA; a son, Harley Hupp, Webster City; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold Hemminger, Webster City; and a sister, Mildred Sollie, Calendar; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Herman Hemminger; and a sister, Allene Hemminger; a grandson; and a great-grandson. Mrs. Hupp was a member of the Church of Christ, Eastern Star, the B Neighborly Club, and was a 4-H club leader.
