Sarah was born in Indiana to Samuel McConnell and Mary Ann Morgan McConnell. She was first married to James R. Robinson at Jackson, Indiana on May 28, 1845. After James died in the Civil War she married Johnathan Brown. Sarah and James had three children; Mary E. Robinson Fox, Londale "Lon" Robinson, and Landon "Lan" Robinson. 1870 census shows Johnathan Brown and Sarah living in Spring Creek Township of Howell County with children Mahala R. age 15, Lucinda C. age 13, Tennessee age 6, Margaret age 4, Martha age 3 and Lan Robinson age 13. 1880 census finds Johnathan and Sarah living in Martinsville with Margaret, Martha and Johnathan who is age 10. Sarah is listed on census as blind. (1890 federal census was destroyed.) Martinsville was a community close to the Siloam Springs where the Pinebrook Inn was built in the early 1900's. It can be assumed that Mahala, Lucinda and Tennessee are Johnathan's children by his first wife. Martha was the daughter of Sarah and John Brown. Mahala married Francis McDaniel, Lucinda married John G. Lamb, Tennessee married Jack Mitts and then Pres Calloway and Martha married John Belcher. Have no additional info on Margaret and John.
