Bio

Ruth Marie Rackley Avey was born and raised in rural Medina County at the small community of Blackcreek, Texas on July 5, 1924. She was the ninth child of William Henry Rackley and Etta Ellen Seeley Rackley, a pioneer farming family in Medina County. She was part of a family of 5 boys (Henry, Seeley, Billy, George, and Lee Wilson) and 5 girls (Ellen, Mary, Jonni, Duckie and Dollie). She was the last surviving child of the family.
